From the Hardys both carrying championship gold, to impressive Superstar returns, amazing ring debuts and dazzling Divas, 2008 has been an incredibly exciting year at WWE. With the New Year knocking on their doors, WWE.com analyzes the past 12 months for several Superstars, and what they can do to make ‘09 their best year ever. If you want to chime in with your opinions on this subject, or simply make your own “Crystal Ballin’” predictions, feel free to do so in the Forums of WWE’s online social network, WWE Universe.

High spots: After sustaining a torn pectoral injury, Cena made an unexpected, and victorious, return to the ring at the Royal Rumble last January. To bookend his astounding year, The Champ made a second triumphant return in November when he overcame neck surgery to capture the elusive World Heavyweight Championship for the first time from Chris Jericho at Survivor Series.
Low blows: While Cena basked in his glories, 2008 proved that even a seemingly impervious Superstar could be felled by injuries. For much of the year, the man whose love of wrestling is well documented was forced to watch from the sidelines as he recouped from career-threatening surgery.
Crystal ballin’: For Cena, priority one is staying healthy. If The Champ can manage to stay out of the operating room and in the ring, there’s no telling just how long his World Heavyweight Championship title reign will be.
